Tata Motors plans Nano production in Indonesia

Tata Motors has made it a point to launch the Nano in a few markets that show the same characteristics as India. They perform countless discussions with Taiwan and several African countries to launch the Nano in overseas markets. After finally sending Nano to Sri Lanka and Nepal, Tata Motors plans Nano production in Indonesia through the alliance.

Tata Motors join with PT Astra International
According to the Bangkok Post, Tata Motors is reportedly in talks with PT Astra International, one of the leading car makers in Indonesia, to produce the Nano to the third-largest car market in Southeast Asia - Indonesia

Operations in foreign countries (Sri Lanka and Nepal) have achieved reasonable success with a total of 825 units sold in a few weeks. By having a plant in the south east, Tata Motors will be able to suppress the growth and demand in both Indonesia and Thailand which attract huge foreign investment.
Tata Motors has made Xenon - pick-up trucks, and Super Ace - a mini truck, the facility was established in association with Thonburi Automotive Assembly Plant in Thailand. So obviously, they were aware of the socioeconomic factors of the south eastern states.

Tata Motors target sales
Companies are expected to prepare 50,000 units per year plant near Jakarta which will also serve the neighboring countries like Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines.
Given the global carmakers such as Toyota, Daihatsu, Honda, Nissan, Peugeot, Mitsubishi, Suzuki and Isuzu already present there, the trip will not be easy. Do you think Tata Motors will live up to the challenge?
