How HANS Device saves lives, It's common for people to consider the head and neck safety device, or HANS device, a millennial item, something developed ten years ago or so. But it was actually conceived after an accident in 1981 and the first prototype was donned in 1986. It sold only sporadically throughout the 90s, but after Dale Earnhardt died in a crash at the 2001 Daytona 500 – coincidentally, of the same injury that lead to the HANS device's creation – it went from oddity to obligation in every major racing series.

Kurt Busch and Penske separate after tough season
Of work, more youthful brother Kyle Busch has not had a much better year. Kyle was cited for travelling 128 mph in a Lexus LFA six months ago and more recently, they endured a $50,000 fine and a one-race suspension for intentionally wrecking Ron Hornaday, Jr.
here must be something in the water at the Busch household. Kurt Busch has reportedly parted ways with Penske by "mutual agreement" after a season filled with controversy. The racer won 16 events in six years of racing with the team, but lately found himself drawing headlines more for his off-track antics. Busch entered in to a confrontation with members of the media after a race in Richmond in September. They also lobbed a volley of obscenities at an ESPN reporter in the work of the season finale at Homestead, Florida. Busch had also made a habit of demeaning crew members over the radio in the work of races, and his crew chief left the team for greener pastures after the last race of the season.
